DFP_7843On-the-job training (OJT) helps you get placed at a job to learn the skills you need while working.

OJT provides reimbursement to employers to help compensate for the extraordinary costs of providing the training and additional supervision related to the training. OJT training can assist employers who are looking to expand their businesses and who need additional staff trained with specialized skills. OJT employers may receive up to 50% of the wage rate of the OJT trainees with a maximum of $5,500 per trainee.

OJT may be available if you are unable to obtain suitable employment with your current skills. It can improve your attractiveness to an employer if you are lacking certain job qualifications if the job requires a certain skill. You can find out more about the OJT program by visiting our FAQ page.
