SCPa Works and PA CareerLink ® to Prepare Thousands for Logistics Jobs in the South Central PA Region

New Skills Training Program Will Help Transition Workers for Roles in Fast-Growing Industry

Harrisburg, Pa (January 11, 2022) – SCPa Works, the Workforce Development Board of South Central Pa, today announced a new training program with Prologis, Inc. (NYSE: PLD), the global leader in logistics real estate, that will equip people with the necessary skills for jobs in the transportation, distribution and logistics sectors.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics anticipates that employment in the distribution and logistics sectors will increase by 29 percent from 2019 (prior to the pandemic) to 1.62 million workers in 2022. With companies facing challenges in finding and retaining workers, Prologis’ free online training was designed to help job candidates develop the foundational knowledge and skills that are in demand in the transportation and warehousing industries. The self-paced program is available on mobile devices and complements the job placement support services that the PA CareerLink ® provides.

“We are excited about this partnership with Prologis to further expand technical training and workforce development efforts in support of the rapidly changing logistics industry,” said SCPa Works CEO Jesse McCree. “The logistics jobs of today and tomorrow demand new investments in skills and training. South Central PA is a logistics hub for North America – and this partnership with Prologis will help us scale and sustain talent networks to keep the industry expanding.”

Developed with JFF, a national nonprofit driving transformation in the American workforce and education systems, Prologis’ digital curriculum teaches essential workforce skills and provides an overview of best practices across the distribution and logistics industries. Prologis has pledged to train 25,000 individuals by 2025, and the South Central PA Region is one of 15 key logistics markets where it has established a CWI presence.

The logistics training program is available today. To find out more about the initiative and enroll, please visit:
