“We will certainly miss Kevin’s exceptional leadership and are deeply grateful for his strategic guidance, passion for workforce development, and dedication to our work over the past 2 years,” said Jeffrey Boswell, Chair of the SCPa Works Board of Directors. “In large part because of Kevin’s leadership, he leaves SCPa Works in a very strong position. We congratulate him and his wife and wish them all the best.”
Mr. Perkey joined SCPa Works (formerly the South Central Workforce Investment Board) in July 2014, taking the helm to lead the organization through its transition under the new Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.
“It has been an enormous privilege to serve as SCPa Works’ CEO,” Mr. Perkey said. “I have had the pleasure of working with many talented and dedicated partners both within and outside of our organization; leading the work we’ve accomplished together setting a new vision and strategic direction for our regional public workforce system; and witnessing the progress we have made toward our mission of unlocking the potential of those we invest in across South Central Pa.”
During his tenure as CEO, SCPa Works refocused its efforts to strategically invest across three growing industry sectors (Healthcare, Advanced Manufacturing, and Transportation & Logistics); providing training, career pathway development, and supportive services to those recently laid-off, the long-term unemployed, and young adults looking for new, emerging, or growing employment opportunities across its eight county South Central PA region.
“SCPa Works is a recognized leader in regional workforce development, chiefly as a result of Kevin’s sincere collaborative leadership with our Board, Local Elected officials, and a diverse group of community partners,” said Robert Ziobrowski, Chair of the SCPa Works Local Elected Official’s Board. “Thanks to his commitment and the drive of the entire staff, SCPa Works is well poised to continue to lead as an effective steward of public resources in our region.”
The SCPa Works Board of Directors has established a Transition Task Force who will lead the transition process and search for the next CEO. To read a letter from Mr. Perkey, visit the SCPa Works’ blog.
