The South Central Workforce Development Planning Region, comprised of SCPa Works and the Lancaster County Workforce Development Board, have released a draft version of the WIOA regional plan that outlines a strategic vision for the region’s workforce initiatives.
“We believe that in order to drive economic progress and success, we must build a strong foundation that supports our region as a place where the opportunity for growth and prosperity exist for all,” said SCPa Works CEO Jesse McCree. “Developing and investing in this foundation is central to the success of the region’s workforce development system.”
Under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), local workforce development boards are required to compile a plan with other workforce boards in their regional to develop coordinated strategies for aligning services and workforce investments.
The WIOA regional plan is due back to the PA Department of Labor & Industry by September 1, 2017.
Public comments on the plan can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org by August 24, 2017 in order to be considered for inclusion in the final plan.
